Volunteer Opportunity for High School Students:   Safety Town.

Safety Town is a fun fifteen hour program consisting of a miniature town with child sized houses, crosswalks, and streets.   Activities throughout the week teach children (age 4-6) safety through songs, guest visitors and role-playing.  Teens will be expected to actively and enthusiastically participate in every activity with the children.  Teens may volunteer up to two weeks per summer.  Teens may volunteer for Spring Break and 2 weeks during the summer.

Volunteers for Safety Town must be between the ages of 13 and 18.  Safety Town requires a one week commitment from 8 a.m. to noon each week.  You will earn 20 hours of volunteer time for each week that you volunteer with this program.  Volunteers will work in a team of 2 or 3 volunteers with a group of 5 or 6 children.  You will be expected to assist the children as needed, and interact with them throughout the program.  We are looking for teen volunteers who are enthusiastic and enjoy working with young children. Volunteers will not have access to their cell phones during training or during the volunteer day at camp.
