CAB CALLOWAY SCHOOL of the ARTS

Some of our long time volunteers are getting ready to “retire” as their students graduate and we need to replace them. Immediate opportunities available to ensure a smooth transition into next school year. You’ll be joining a cohesive team of men and women who enjoy getting to know students and support Cab Calloway PTSO fundraising and student support efforts. It would be your choice to either work alone or with a partner for some social time.

The Snack Shack runs daily from 2:25 – 3:00 and sells hot and cold snacks and drinks.  The parent volunteer job involves coming in from 1:30 – 3:00 per shift to cook easy hot foods such as hot dogs, chicken nuggets, etc. and put out a variety of snacks and cold food and drinks so they are ready to be sold when the bell rings. There are student volunteers assigned daily to selling duties so they can earn $15 per shift for the club they represent that day. The parent volunteer steps back to oversee the student selling and cleanup efforts. It’s a fast hour or so of hustling to get things together but very rewarding as you get to interact with students and turn in the daily sales proceeds to the office — instant gratification!

Proceeds from Snack Shack help fund teacher requests, Adopt a Family, hospitality events, annual Senior Scholarships and many other PTSO events throughout the school year. Snack Shack also provides a valuable service to the school by making wholesome snacks available to hungry students after school without leaving the school property.

Please consider stepping forward to help with this interactive volunteer commitment!!
