- Creating the Digital Portfolio
- The middle school communication arts digital portfolio must consist of FIVE (5) digital art pieces.
- The pieces MUST be created digitally.
- The pieces are as follows:
- ONE (1) digitally recorded three-to-five-minutes (3-5 min.) long introductory video answering required questions.
- ONE (1) unaltered digital photograph
- ONE (1) digital graphic design poster
- ONE (1) digital photomontage
- ONE (1) series of FIVE (5) altered OR unaltered digital photographs that tell a visual story

- It is NOT mandatory, but the applicant may want to use the Adobe Creative Cloud application suite, specifically the Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop apps, to complete the digitally recorded three-to-five-minutes (3-5 min.) long introductory video, the digital graphic design poster and the digital photomontage, respectively.
- The Adobe Creative Cloud apps are paramount learning tools for all middle school digital communication arts majors at the Cab Calloway School of the Arts.

- Delivering the Digital Portfolio to Dr. Goldsborough
- Please, complete the THREE (3) steps below to successfully deliver the middle school communication arts digital portfolio to Dr. Goldsborough.
- Please, insert all the completed digital art pieces in a Google Slides presentation.
- Please place the presentation in a Google Drive folder.
- Please, share that same folder with Dr. Goldsborough.

- Important Information
- There is no in-person evaluation procedure for the middle school digital communication arts assessment.
- The ENTIRE middle school Comm Arts assessment process is digital.
- Please DO NOTcombine the middle school digital communication arts portfolio with a middle school visual arts portfolio.
- They MUST be separate and sent to TWO DIFFERENT teachers.
- Before submitting the digital portfolio to Dr. Goldsborough, please test your introductory video AFTER it is inserted in the Google Slides presentation.
- You may test them by sending it to a trusted person and asking them if it plays successfully.
- The graphic design must be a digital vector drawing only.
- The photomontage must be created with digital image editing software only.
- Please, do not add any of the digital art pieces in the introductory video.
- The introductory video MUST ONLY include the applicant introducing themselves and answering the required questions.
- Only provide requested information in the introductory video.
- If the applicant does not have access to the Internet and/or a computer, then they may create a physical portfolio and drop it off at the Cab Calloway School of the Arts main office front desk. The applicant may provide written answers to the introductory video interview questions on paper, and place it within their physical portfolio.
- The applicant is solely responsible for retrieving their physical portfolio after it is reviewed.
