Cab Calloway School of the Arts is a public magnet (or “choice”) school in the Red Clay Consolidated School District.
While CCSA is a public school, as a magnet/choice school, we do not have what is referred to as a “feeder pattern”. No child is automatically assigned to Cab Calloway School of the Arts; rather, every student has “choiced” into the school, selecting it over other district-designated middle or high schools.
There is no tuition charge to attend CCSA, even if you reside outside the Red Clay Consolidated School District; however, you must be a Delaware resident. Cab Calloway School of the Arts cannot accept out-of-state residents. Cab Calloway School of the Arts offers a rigorous academic program, infused with the arts, for students entering grades six through twelve. The ideal time to apply to Cab Calloway is for grades 6 and 9. Students should apply when they are in 5th grade for our middle school and 8th grade for our high school. Due to limited seats in 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades, applications for those grade levels are limited to Red Clay residents.
Please note: When applying online, both applications are combined into one.
