Cab Summer Concludes

Cab Summer is nearing the end of its inaugural season and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. With over 30 different courses running during our seven weeks of “smART” camp, the students have broadened their horizons beyond their imaginations. Close to 250 kids made CabSummer a part of their activities this year and interest in next year is growing at an amazing rate. Classes ranging from Musical Theatre to Fashion Design, Jazz Band to Video Game Design, and Bollywood Dance to Solo Singing are just a few examples of what has been going on in the halls of the school this June through August.

With the help of the University of Delaware Arts Bridge Scholars, we have been integrating “arts” and “smarts” throughout the summer school. Classes have been working together and basing some of their collaborations on the various themes we have had each week. The Delaware Humanities Forum has done presentations each week on topics ranging from “Shakespeare” to “the 1960’s”, “Continents & Cultures” to “Freedom”.

It has been an awesome season! Thanks to everyone for joining in on year one of CabSummer! We hope you have had as great a time as we have and look forward to seeing you all again next year!!
