Sixth Grade Visual Arts
- 3 ring binder, used to store resource materials, handouts and worksheets distributed at the beginning and throughout work on every project
- 1 sketchbook, preferably 9×12 inches in size. Sketchbooks are used for most in-class assignments; additionally, they will be checked for required entries once a week. What is a sketchbook entry? Details will follow!
- 1 sheet of white matte board, 32×40 inches, for use throughout the school year. Students will earn homework points upon teacher receipt of the matte board.
- Good drawing pencils. Graphite pencils recommended for purchase are 6B, 4B, 2H and 4H (6B is the softest, 4H is the hardest); this will give students a nice range of graphite to work with. PUrchase of a complete set of pencils is not required. Teacher will provide pencils (#2, which is an HB) for those students who come to class unprepared, at the price of 10 cents per pencil.
- Ruler: clear plastic if you can locate one, but if not, don’t make yourself crazy trying to find one; any ruler will work well.
- Personal color pencils, Crayola, Prang or Prismacolor
- Scissors, compass, markers and protractors
- Purchase of crayons, erasers and glue are not required, but you are encouraged to purchase any materials you feel will better equip your child for success.
